Then

The Warner Church story began in the middle of 2004, when a number of willing families mostly from Pine Rivers Church of Christ, followed what they believed to be God’s call to establish a new church within the Warner area. Then led by Pastors Dan and Anita Lyons, Warner community Church of Christ was planted and commissioned at the end of 2004.

At the start of 2005 a handful of passionate Warner Church people moved from meeting under the Packer’s house in Kurwongbah into Genesis Christian College. Corporate worship was at 3 pm in the afternoon on Sunday’s. This however, wasn’t to be a permanent home. By July 2005 Warner Church had relocated to Bray Park High School where meetings were held in the performing Arts building, and where the official launch of the church took place.

During late 2009 the Church entered a time of leadership transition. The Lyons family stepped out of leadership of Warner Church and prepared to relocate to for ongoing ministry purposes in Melbourne. October saw the arrival of the Parsons family with Haydn Parsons leading the Church as Pastor from then.

Since its commencement, Warner Church has been a place where people from all walks of life are accepted, nurtured in the Christian faith; and have an opportunity to contribute.

Our origins…

Churches of Christ in Queensland is a group of mainstream Christian churches which have been an active part of the

Queensland community for over 100 years. Today, there are over 70 churches across the state from Cairns to the Gold Coast and from the outback to the coast. Our purpose is to strive towards the goal of everyone, anywhere, being connected with someone who knows and loves Jesus.

In addition to the local churches, we operate a range of theological, financial and care and support services that assist families, the elderly and people in need.

With over 45,000 Queenslanders involved regularly in our local churches or care services, we’re proud to be an integral part of the Queensland community.
